Leadership. Strategy. Growth

CEO's Message

Over recent months, I’ve had the opportunity to visit a number of metropolitan and regional clubs and continue to be encouraged by the resilience and commitment being shown across the sector. Despite ongoing economic and operational pressures, clubs continue to evolve, invest in their facilities, support their communities and provide important social connection across the state.

At the same time, there is no doubt the operating environment remains challenging.

Like many industries, clubs are continuing to navigate increasing costs associated with utilities, wages, insurance, food supply and fuel, particularly within regional areas where transport and operational pressures can have an even greater impact. Many clubs are also balancing volunteer fatigue, governance responsibilities and increasing compliance obligations, while still striving to deliver high-quality experiences for their members and local communities.

Clubs SA Events

What a remarkable few weeks it has been for South Australia’s club industry.

Our inaugural Women in Clubs Luncheon exceeded all expectations, selling out and bringing together an inspiring group of women from clubs across the state for an afternoon of connection, conversation and celebration. The energy in the room was incredible and highlighted the important role women play in shaping the future of our clubs and communities.

That momentum continued at the inaugural Club Leaders Summit, which also sold out, with club leaders gathering to explore the trends, challenges and opportunities that will influence the future of our industry. The engagement, discussion and willingness to share ideas demonstrated just how committed our clubs are to continual improvement and innovation.

Now, it’s time to celebrate the achievements that make our industry so special.

Nominations for the 2026 Clubs SA Clubs & Community Awards are NOW OPEN. These awards recognise the volunteers, leaders, staff, initiatives and clubs that are making an outstanding contribution to their communities across South Australia.
