Clubs SA Welcomes New Board Member

Janine Vella

Clubs SA is delighted to welcome Janine Vella to the Board, marking an exciting milestone as our first female Board Member. Well overdue!

Janine’s connection to clubs runs deep. Born a Woodville “Pecker”, where her father played SANFL football, some of her earliest and fondest memories were formed at Broadview Football Club, a club that continues to hold a special place in her heart.

Her professional journey in clubs includes several years as Marketing Manager – Football & Licensed Club at South Adelaide Football Club, where she reignited her passion for the club industry. Janine understands the unique environment that clubs operate within and the diverse stakeholders they serve.

“Working in clubs takes a special kind of person,” Janine says. “You’re balancing the needs of Boards, executives, volunteers, members, patrons, staff, players and fans. It can be challenging, but it’s also incredibly rewarding.”

For the past eight years, Janine has been heavily involved with Henley Sharks Football & Netball Club, following the introduction of girls’ football and her daughter’s involvement in the sport. She has served on the club’s Senior Committee for six years and has held the role of Senior Female Football Director for the past four years, helping to support and grow female participation within the club.

Outside of her volunteer commitments, Janine works as an Event Manager, bringing extensive experience in planning, stakeholder engagement and event delivery.

Janine joins the Clubs SA Board with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment to supporting South Australia’s club sector. She is looking forward to combining her passion for events with her lifelong love of clubs and contributing to the ongoing success of Clubs SA and its members.

Please join us in welcoming Janine to the Clubs SA Board.
