National Volunteer Week 2026 – Save the Date: 18–24 May 2026

National Volunteer Week is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering, and in 2026 the celebrations will run from 18–24 May. While the week is still ahead of us, now is the perfect time for clubs, community groups and volunteers to mark their calendars and start planning how they will get involved next year.

The 2026 theme, “Your Year to Volunteer,” highlights the vital role volunteers play in strengthening communities and encourages Australians of all ages to discover the joy, purpose and connection that comes with giving their time.

National Volunteer Week 2026 will shine a spotlight on the dedication of current volunteers while inviting new people to get involved. Clubs across South Australia are encouraged to celebrate their volunteers, acknowledge their contributions and use the national resources to raise awareness of the importance of volunteering.

Volunteering Australia has released a full suite of resources including certificates, social media tiles, email banners and more in the lead-up to the week. Merchandise and volunteer gifts, including the popular lapel pins and anniversary recognition pins, will be available from late January 2026 via the Volunteering Australia online shop.
