Start Strong for 2026: The Simple Strategy Community Clubs Are Winning With Right Now
On paper, the outlook appears positive with Australians visiting pubs, bars and restaurants an average of 69 times a year, up from 61 the year before, according to Food and Beverage Media.
Yet this growth it’s not necessarily about visiting more venues, it’s those that are returning to the ones where they feel recognised and know what to expect. For community clubs, this is the opportunity to leverage, to establish consistency and genuine connection with everyone that comes through your doors.
Low Risk. High Engagement. Real Results.
Research shows that 82 per cent of consumers return to a venue for personalised, meaningful interaction, not just food and beverage.
Members want to know where they belong on a given night and the clubs winning are those committing to at least one or two consistent weekly entertainment formats and executing them with discipline.
InnQUIZitive trivia nights, DJ Bingo, QuizzaMe, SportsPick tipping competitions and APL Poker leagues all share the same principle; as known and trusted brands, they’re low-risk, operationally simple, and they are focused on building habit.
- InnQUIZitive trivia nights deliver consistent member engagement week in and week out with minimal operational requirements and has strong community appeal
- DJ Bingo brings families and diverse social groups together in a format that accommodates multiple demographics and comfort levels
- QuizzaMe operates as another angle on knowledge-based entertainment while building the same quiz-driven loyalty patterns and repeat attendance that make trivia nights so effective
- APL Poker creates an aspirational framework where weekly league nights lead toward larger events and give players genuine reasons to return week after week, turning casual participants into regulars who commit to ongoing attendance
- SportsPick tipping leverages the natural passion members already have around sport. It requires minimal operational setup, yet creates genuine competition and camaraderie that keeps regulars invested week after week. Unlike one-off betting promotions, a weekly tipping competition builds natural momentum as the season progresses, with members tracking their performance and competing against friends in the club.
If you haven’t done so already, use January and February to choose your format, align your committee, and commit.
The question isn’t whether you can afford to commit to consistent programming. It’s whether you can afford not to. Members are voting with their attendance, so making it easy for them to choose your club will go a long way to sustainable community building.
